Salus University is seeking a skilled professional to fill the full-time position of Instructor/Assistant Professor to participate in educational and patient care activities performed within the Cornea and Specialty Contact Lens Service (CASCLS) and Primary Care Services of The Eye Institute Clinical Network of Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Also, within the didactic curriculum, to provide instruction in preclinical skills and/or other laboratory/lecture roles as related to background, interests, and needs of the program.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

* Provide clinical education to students, residents and other personnel while delivering patient care services in CASCLS and primary care clinics at TEI Clinical Network.

* Provide clinical education/patient care at TEI during a weekly schedule based on the current needs of the program, including Saturdays.

* Provide independent direct patient care at TEI Clinical Network as needed.

* Participate in 4th year optometric student orientation, workshops, and conferences, as well as resident conferences based on the current needs of the program.

* Participate in the education, mentoring, and evaluations of TEI residents.

* Actively participate in service grading meetings and assesses students assigned to the CASCLS and primary care clinics through verbal feedback during patient care, Meditrek patient encounter logs, and written midterm and final evaluations.

* Participates with program directors and other faculty/staff in the planning, preparation, and implementation of integrated curricular content and clinical protocols.

* Participates in faculty meetings, workshops, and development activities as appropriate.

Work Requirements:
* Graduation from an accredited school or college of optometry
* Current Pennsylvania license to practice optometry (with therapeutic and glaucoma privileges), or license-eligible
* Completion of a one-year or longer optometric contact lens residency, or a minimum of four years equivalent experience in clinical practice

Skills and Other Requirements:
* Eligible for faculty rank and professional staff appointment at TEI and PCO
* Continuing faculty appointment is contingent on maintaining clinical privileges consistent with TEI credentialing policies and protocols and adhering to established compliance protocols

Other Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Fellow (or Fellowship track) of the American Academy of Optometry
* Diplomate of the American Academy of Optometry
* Prior supervisory experience in an optometric setting or at TEI
* Experience as an optometric educator
* Strong clinically- and educationally related technology skills
* Demonstrated commitment to excellence in optometric education and patient care
* Demonstrated history of a positive work ethic
